State House

State House (Luthuli Street, Dar Es Salaam) – this is the cabinet office, state rooms, apartments and offices of the President of Tanzania. The building sits at the mouth of the natural harbor of the edge of the Indian Ocean. This site, which was once a German building destroyed by the British Royal Navy during World War I, was built by the British colonial government in 1922 (by English architect John Sinclair), with African and Arabic architectural styles.
