Botanical Gardens (Samora Avenue, Dar Es Salaam) – these gardens are a shady oasis (from a growing African metropolis) filled with an exciting combination of indigenous and exotic plants including the rare coco-de-mer palm tree outside its native Seychelles. Established in 1893, this stunning garden is now home to the Dar Es Salaam Horticultural Society and offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy local flora in a quiet and serene setting. Free admission. Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (weekdays).
